Coming Soon: Floor and Decor
Floor & Decor is preparing to move into the former JOANN Fabric and Crafts space at 1003 W. Patrick St. on Frederick’s Golden Mile, bringing a major home improvement and flooring retailer to the corridor. Plans include a proposed 7,850-square-foot expansion of the building before opening, signaling significant reinvestment in the shopping center and adding a new destination for flooring, tile, kitchen, and bath materials in Frederick.
VFW Post 3285
Since opening, VFW Post 3285’;s physical space and mission have surpassed initial projections, with strong demand for event space rentals creating steady operational revenue and expanding community engagement. Most notably, membership has surged by more than 300 new members across the VFW and Auxiliary.
Spinners Pinball Arcade: A Pinball EDU Center
Spinners Pinball Arcade is officially open in Frederick’s District 40, welcoming customers to its expanded new location with unlimited all-day play, more than 100 arcade and pinball games, party spaces, and community programming. As a nonprofit, family-friendly destination, Spinners combines entertainment with inclusive community impact, offering a unique attraction that adds fresh energy to Frederick’s growing recreation and entertainment landscape.
Way Off Broadway Dinner Theater
As of early 2026, Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre entered a new chapter under the ownership of Shawn and Laura Martin, longtime operators of Washington County Playhouse, bringing experienced regional theater leadership to one of Frederick’s signature entertainment venues. The transition builds on more than three decades of cultural and economic impact along the Golden Mile, positioning the historic dinner theater for continued growth as a key contributor to Frederick’s arts and tourism sector.
Coming Soon: Edge Express Car Wash
Edge Express Car Wash is also making significant progress along West Patrick Street, introducing a modern express car wash concept to Frederick’s commercial corridor. With a major reinvestment ahead, the new facility reflects business owners’ commitment to infrastructure upgrades that strengthen Golden Mile commercial spaces.
Centro Hispano de Frederick
Centro Hispano de Frederick is expanding its impact through an enhanced partnership with the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development and Frederick County Office of Economic Development, now offering monthly business office hours and launching Visión Empresarial, a Spanish-language mentorship program tailored for Latino and Hispanic entrepreneurs. Building on nearly 20 years of service, Centro continues to broaden its role as a critical hub for workforce development, small business support, education, and community advancement across Frederick.
District 40 Smaller Plaza
The small retail plaza behind District 40 is now fully tenanted, reflecting continued small business momentum with a diverse mix of locally driven retailers and food concepts, including Bargain Bin, Chicking/Chick N Friends, United CDL School, and Nelia African Market. This tenant mix highlights how smaller commercial spaces are important hubs for entrepreneurial activity, neighborhood retail, and culturally diverse commerce in Frederick’s evolving west side economy.
Taj Mahal Coming Soon: Saffron Grill & Bar
Under new ownership since December 2025, Taj Mahal is undergoing a major transformation as Samir and Urvi reimagine the longtime restaurant into Saffron Bar & Grill, following a rapid doubling of business and a new 15-year lease commitment. Planned renovations, expanded seating, banquet space, and a more diverse menu position the investment as a significant renovation project contributing to the local hospitality industry.
