In its second year in Frederick, the event provided an up close and personal look at construction trades as a career, with event capacity more than doubling in size this year in terms of number of students and exhibitors participating according to the event organizers. Students were treated to an exciting array of ‘hands on’ opportunities highlighting the many career paths that construction holds. Exhibitors allowed the students to try their hand at electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywalling, roofing and several other skilled tasks throughout the day.

MCCEI is an independent workforce intermediary committed to making construction attractive and accessible to all. They help guide the future of the industry by promoting education and innovation. Their mission is to inspire, educate, and connect a diverse population to careers in the built environment.

This year’s event sponsors included:

  • AIRD Incorporated

  • International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 24

  • Maryland Chapter NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association)

  • The Rosendin Foundation

  • The City of Frederick
