NCI & Frederick National Laboratory's Technology Showcase

On June 13, 2018, the second annual Technology Showcase was hosted at NCI and Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research (FNLCR) to encourage startup company formation, technology licensing, and collaborations. The event brought together hundreds of technology development stakeholders from across the region, and included networking opportunities throughout the day. The success of the event has ensured demand for the event again next year -- mark your calendars early. 

Bio Beers

'Where Great Minds Drink Alike"

Bio Beers is a nation-wide MeetUp that provides "a platform where like minded bio-preneurs gather to share ideas, cultivate business relationships and build life-long friendships." Founded in 2010, the FrederickCoBio Chapter currently has over 900 members and regularly hosts casual, industry-specific networking events - rotating through venues such as the NCI, FITCI, and local college campuses. TEDCO EntrePreNeur ExPo and Stem Cell Symposium

Held at the University of Maryland, TEDCO’s annual Entrepreneur Expo & Stem Cell Symposium will celebrate entrepreneurship within the State, while shining a special spotlight on stem cell research & development. The Expo will draw more than 800 of the region’s top entrepreneurs, business owners, angel and venture capital investors and legislators, and will offer workshops, round-table discussions and company exhibitions. FITCI's Funded and Brews

Recognizing the comprehensive role of an incubator to bring ideas to life, the leaders of Frederick-based FITCI developed the "Funded and Brews" series to address the financial realities of a start-up. The series focuses on helping science & technology - minded entrepreneurs raise necessary fundings in the early stages of their business. Past events have invited CEO's who have successfully raised capital for their companies to share their stories over a few cold brews.

Bio Capital Health Region Forum

The invitation-only event is free for executive level biotech leaders and is presented by BioHealth Innovation, VirginiaBio, Inova, Children’s National Health System, QIAGEN, Maryland Tech Council, University System of Maryland and MedImmune/AstraZeneca. Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC set the bar high for biotech innovation. The annual forum is focused on advancing science and accelerating innovation.  

The program features a talented line up of speakers and a "Shark Tank"-esque competition renamed -- in true Maryland fashion -- the "Crab Trap."
