Meet Emma Damazo and Rowena Wilson — Economic Development’s summer interns. A huge thank you to this impressive duo for their dedicated work this summer researching, interviewing, and promoting our local women and minority-owned business community.
Emma Damazo is a rising freshman at University of Virginia. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 2019. At UVA, she plans to study economics and math, with the hopes of researching public economics. Her interests include robotics, skiing, and running. She was grateful for the opportunity this summer to hear stories from so many inspiring people and to make a difference for Frederick’s disadvantaged entrepreneurs.
Rowena Wilson-Olivo is a rising sophomore at Harvard University. She plans to study Social Studies with a secondary degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy. She graduated from the International Baccalaureate Program at Urbana High School in 2018. An avid swimmer, sailor, and reader, she has greatly appreciated the days of her internship engaging with and learning from her Downtown Frederick neighbors.
