Downtown Frederick Partnership and the City of Frederick are excited to announce the new Downtown Frederick Ambassador Program, which marks a major step toward significantly improving the cleanliness of sidewalks and streets in the Downtown Frederick area and providing for continual proactive engagement with the public.
In recent decades, we have seen a new economic trend emerge on Frederick’s southeast side. Arts & Entertainment destinations have begun to cluster in the area and bring life back to the historic structures. Together, these complimentary uses are serving as key catalysts for the revitalization of the entire corridor.
Frederick currently has an opportunity to use the experiences and data collected during the pandemic to reimagine the Downtown Frederick public streetscape and reinforce long-term recovery and continued growth. The City and Downtown Frederick Partnership have partnered to engage a design company to develop creative options for this potential redesign.
Earlier this week, Governor Larry Hogan announced the awardees from the Fiscal Year 2021 application round for state revitalization programs administered by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. Among the grants announced are two awards — totaling to $225,000— for projects sponsored by The City of Frederick.
