In the background of this year’s news & events, many of Frederick’s commercial projects have been steadily moving forward with impressive results. Here we’ll help catch you up on some of the projects you might have lost track of in recent months.

Frederick Health Hospital received approval from the city’s Planning Commission to move forward with plans for a nearly 40,000-square-foot addition designed to increase capacity in the emergency department, intensive care unit and cardiac catheterization lab.

The State Farm campus on Monocacy Boulevard has been purchased by Frederick Health. The new location, to be named Frederick Health Village, will focus on population health and outpatient medical care.

Developers St. John Properties and Matan Companies have played major roles in the growth of the region. We took the opportunity to chat with Danny Severn, Director of Development at St. John Properties and Brian Morris, Development Coordinator at Matan Companies to learn about their company’s development projects, as well as the trends of the growth they are seeing first hand.   

St. John Properties was one of the first developers to enter the commercial real estate market on the Northeast side of the City. Over time, the company’s Riverside Technology Park has expanded into a half million square foot R&D/flex office project and become a cornerstone of one of the hottest commercial areas in the greater Frederick region.
