AOPA Mobilizes Hurricane Relief Efforts

FREDERICK, MD – The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) will be collecting items tomorrow and Sunday to send to Hurricane Irma victims following its potential landfall. With general aviation leading the way in Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts, AOPA will begin activating additional pilots and volunteers to assist in recovering from any potential impact from Hurricane Irma.

AOPA staff will be on hand at the National Aviation Community Center (NACC), located at 296 Bucheimer Rd, Frederick, MD 21701, on Saturday September 9 and Sunday September 10 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. collecting items to be delivered to those affected by Hurricane Irma.

Our members and staff have always been available on the front lines to aid in any way possible during emergencies and this time is no different. I hope that anyone who has items that might help victims of Hurricane Irma can make their way to our trucks and airplanes in Frederick this weekend, before we take off to lend a helping hand to those affected.
— AOPA President and CEO Mark Baker

Individuals can also make tax deductible financial contributions to the AOPA Foundation to allow AOPA to provide support for relief efforts in response to recent events.
