Each month, our blog features an organization that provides resources to local businesses in our ‘Partner Spotlight.’ This month, the spotlight falls on the City’s Planning Department.

The 2020 Comprehensive Plan will guide how Frederick develops, what things will be built and where. Planners update the comprehensive plan every 10 years —- and now they are looking for your input.

The draft Strategic Plan has evolved based on input from the community and collaboration among City staff and the Mayor. The Strategic Plan will guide improvements to the City over the next 10 years. It will be used to direct budgeting, set priorities for City government, and assign actions to specific City departments.

On July 16, during an open house style event, the public is invited to review and comment on the draft 2030 Strategic Plan that has evolved based on community comments, and collaboration among City staff and Mayor Michael O’Connor.

The City’s Purchasing Department recently launched a new online supplier registration system. The new application exists on the City’s website and serves as an initial step for all businesses that wish to work with the City of Frederick.

The City’s 2030 Strategic Plan will be developed in 2019 as a guide for driving future improvements to the City. The next phase of plan development offers an opportunity for active public engagement through a series of community events held across the City during the month of January.
